Janhvi Kapoor's 'Gunjan Saxena- The Kargil Girl' To Release On Netflix

Gone are the days when people used to go to the theatres, buy a tub of popcorn and watch the movies!! Corona Virus has made us say good bye to the world of cinema halls and OTT platforms have replicated their place. All big producers have turned to various OTT platforms to get their films a release and Janhvi Kapoor's 'Gunjan Saxena - The Kargil Girl' is the next to join the bandwagon post 'Gulabo Sitabo' and 'Shakuntala Devi'.

The official handle of Netflix India also shared the news, "Plane ladka udaye ya ladki, usse pilot hi kehte hain" - Gunjan Saxena - The Kargil Girl, arriving soon."

The film is a biopic on the life of Indian Air Force Pilot Gunjan Saxena, the first female and Indian woman airforce pilot in combat along with Srividya Rajan. Gunjan rescued the soldiers during the Kargil War in 19999 and was honoured with Shaurya Vir Award.

The film is directed by Sharan Sharma and is produced under Dharma Productions and Zee Studios. Film also features Pankaj Tripathi and Angad Bedi in supporting roles. The film was originally scheduled to have a release on 13th March, 2020 but owing to Covid-19 it got postponed to 24th April, 2020. Finally the film is ready to get a premiere on Netflix. Date of the release has not been announced yet.
