Gajraj Rao on Coronavirus Pandemic: ‘A Bad Dream, Will End Soon Hopefully’

Actor Gajraj Rao, who was recently seen in the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, shared his thoughts about the Coronavirus pandemic with a message for the audience.

Rao said, “In my opinion, these unfortunate times are like a bad dream that will end soon hopefully. I humbly request everyone to please stay at home, follow the guidelines being laid out by the administration, and co-operate with them. Home deliveries are possible for almost anything now, be it groceries or any other essentials – but there is no home delivery for one’s life. Life is indeed priceless and we must help each other in protecting it.”

Known for his memorable performances in films like Badhaai Ho, and Talvar, Gajraj Rao also shared some insights into staying creative as an artist in the lockdown.

While there is no specific one-size-fits-all approach, he stresses on how staying connected with his near ones is helping him immensely. “We are blessed to be surrounded with these gadgets and technology that keeps the mind engaged and brings us all closer despite physical distances. I’ve been spending quite some time on video-calls chatting with my friends and family and it helps to be reminded that we are all in this together. Apart from catching up on the latest films, web-series, and books, I have also been brainstorming with a few of my directors and writers regarding scripts and upcoming projects”, he says.

Gajraj Rao will be next seen in the upcoming sports drama Maidaan, starring Ajay Devgn. The film is based on the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, who was the Indian national football team’s coach and manager.

On whether the film would be delayed due to the lockdown, he says, “It is too early for us to comment given the uncertainty these days on this and it is best not to speculate. The film is shaping up very well and the audience would see me in a very different kind of role this time which I’m excited about. I hope that we’ll come out stronger and wiser by the end of this lockdown, all prepared for the new road ahead.”
