‘Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi’ is a wholesome family entertainer says Rohit Shetty

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty, who has returned as the host of a new season of reality show ‘Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi’, has said that his upcoming show has become wholesome family entertainer as it has elements humour, thrill and emotions apart from action.

Rohit Shetty was interacting with the media at launch of show ‘Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi’ on Tuesday in Mumbai.

In the new season of ‘Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi’, Rohit Shetty will be known as Professor of Darr Ki University, as thrills and adventures take over Bulgarian boulevards.

The buzzword this season is "Darr lega class, dega traas", as the contestants ward off deadly animals and poisonous insects, and tackle dangerous stunts on cars and bikes.

Talking about USP of his upcoming show, Shetty said, “It’s a whole some entertainer. It’s not only an action based show. When you watch a singing show or a dance show, you know that I am watching a singing or a dancing show. But apart from being an action show, this show has elements of humour, thrill and emotion like a film and that’s what I think is the charm of this show.”

He added, “It has become a family show and not an action show because I have hosted quite a few seasons of this show. I often meet kids and family audience who talk and praise this show so, we have taken all these things into consideration. When you will watch it, you will realize that it’s a wholesome entertainment show.”

Talking about experience hosting ‘Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi’ Shetty said, “I had really nice experience while doing this show. I think the most important thing about this show is who are coming as contestants. In each season, Colors team brings a good lot (group of people) and this time around also, they did the same. I think the team (crew) and contestants were really good and that’s why I think we have been able to come up with a good show. Every year, we try to come up with new stunts but till the time we don’t get good players, we can’t make a good show. Our last season was one of the highest rated shows on television so, I hope that this season will do better than the previous season.”

Shetty said that he learnt action choreography from his close friend and colleague Ajay Devgn’s father, Veeru Devgan, he said, “I took training of action from Ajay (Devgn) sir’s father Veeru Devgan ji. He was one of the biggest action directors of an earlier era. He is my guru and I learnt a lot from him. I apply his teachings in today’s time as well and it’s not that technique has changed and I have learnt about safety measures while doing an scene from him. I apply that in my films and in this show as well.”

This year's season 10 suitably has 10 contestants gunning for the top prize. Enrolling in Shetty''s Darr Ki University to pass a few daring tests this season across gorgeous Bulgarian landscapes are actors Ada Khan, Karishma Tanna, Karan Patel, Shivin Narang, Tejashwi Prakash, Amruta Khanvilkar and Rani Chatterjee, along with comedian Balraj Syal, RJ Malishka and choreographer Dharmesh Yelande.

The new season of the show will start from February 22, and air every Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm on Colors channel.
