Karan Johar is all geared to make a comeback to direction with period saga Takht, will go on the floors in March and now the filmmaker confirms a new movie based on Nitin Gokhale’ book “R.N.Kao: Gentleman Spymaster”.

Filmmaker Karan Johar just took to his social media profile and dropped the confirmation of the new movie. He wrote, “Turning pages into frames, one thrill at a time. Bringing to you an adaptation of Nitin Gokhale’s book - “R.N.Kao: Gentleman Spymaster” to the silver screen. More information coming soon! @apoorvamehta18 #AmritpalBindra @anandntiwari @DharmaMovies #StillAndStillMediaCollective”

The cast and other details will be announced soon. But Karan Johar tweeted confirms that the film is based on R.N.Kao or Rameshwar Nath Kao - a man of very high intelligence. During his service in the Nehru administration, Kao had proved himself as a reliable officer and a master strategist, and therefore Indira Gandhi had no doubt about his appointment as the first chief of India’s external intelligence agency, RAW.

Kao or Ramji as he was popularly known in his private circles was the first spymaster of independent India and played a major role in the liberation of Bangladesh. Those who were close to Ramji later disclosed that India has not seen a spymaster so meticulous as Kao. Under Kao, India provided support to the freedom fighters of Mukhti Bahini in Bangladesh and helped them defeat Pakistan in Operation Searchlight.

As for Takht - the film set during the Mughal era, the ensemble drama features Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.
