Celebrities, Your Voice Matters, Speak Up Urges Hansal Mehta
When most of Indian youth is on street, protesting CAA, NPR, NRC and attacks on Students in Delhi or across nation, most of B-Town celebrities have maintained their silence. The fear of losing face, or back lashes on social media or career front, the Cinema industry bigwigs are keeping quite but filmmaker Hansal Mehta urges everyone to speak up, as everyone’s voice matters.
Filmmaker Hansal Mehta took to his social media and wrote a long note, urging everyone to raise their voices, especially the celebrities. He wrote, “Dear celebrities. It is understandable that opening your heart out and being vocal on a public platform entails a great risk for you and your career. But remember the millennials who form your major audience are speaking up vociferously. Your voice matters to them. Speak up”
“Speak up - whether left, right or centre. IMHO the millennials are a passionate lot but it takes very little time for them to get disillusioned. I know that you are actually wonderful, empathetic and aware citizens of this country. Let your potential audience know that”
Taking his talk to the walk, Hansal Mehta participated in a peaceful protest at Carter Road in Mumbai last night.
Meanwhile on the work front, Hansal Mehta’s next is Chhalaang, which is an upcoming social comedy film starring Rajkummar Rao and Nushrat Bharucha. It is produced by Ajay Devgn, Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg.
