Mohit Suri Corrects Ram Gopal Varma On Aashiqui 2

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is back to the celluloid with a film titled Beautiful, which is an ode to his film Rangeela. The romantic love story, presented by RGV, is directed by Agasthya Manju. The film features Parth Suri and Naina Ganguly in the lead roles.

Ram Gopal Varma just dropped a new poster from the film on social media and took a dig at Amitabh Bachchan starring Abhimaan and Mohit Suri directorial Aashiqui 2 and wrote, “BEAUTIFUL is not about Professional jealousy like Abhimaan and Aashiqi 2...it’s about male pride and misplaced self respect”

According to the tweet by RGV, classic Abhimaan and Aashiqui 2, were based on Professional jealousy rather than anything else.

This retort didn’t set well with Aashiqui 2 director Mohit Suri, who took to his social media profile and didn’t waste time to correct RGV. He wrote, “Sir I don’t think you’ve seen Aashiqui 2 sir. It’s isn’t about professional rivalry. I wouldn’t make that film it was about that. But I honoured my film is even set up as an example!”

For the uninitiated, Aashiqui 2 is a romantic musical drama film directed by Mohit Suri. Starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles, produced by Mukesh Bhatt and Bhushan Kumar under the Vishesh Films and T-Series banners.

Set in the early 2010s, Aashiqui 2 is a love story centering on the turbulent relationship between musicians Rahul and Arohi, a relationship which is affected by Rahul's issues with alcohol abuse and temperament.
