Amitabh Bachchan is my inspiration says Rajinikanth

Megastar Rajinikanth who has worked with Amitabh Bachchan in films like ‘Andha Kanoon’, ‘Hum’ and ‘Geraftaar’ has said that he considers 77 year old legendary actor as his inspiration. He added that Bachchan has advised him to exercise regularly, to be busy and to not enter into politics.

Rajinikanth was interacting with the media at the trailer launch of ‘Darbar’ along with his co-actors Suniel Shetty, Prateik Babbar, film’s director AR Murugadoss, cinematographer Santosh Sivan, music composer Anirudh Ravichander and singer Armaan Malik on Monday in Mumbai.

Rajinikanth is not just a revered public figure in South India but he has fans all across the world, when asked him to whom he look up to in his life, he said, “I have told many times… its Amitabh Bachchan. He is my inspiration. He inspires me not only in front of camera but off screen as well.”

When asked Rajinikanth what are his memories working with Amitabh Bachchan in films, he said, “There are many moments. He (Amtiabh Bachchan) loves me. A few years back in Chennai, he told me that ‘after turning 60, you should be careful of three things. Do exercise regularly’ and second thing he told me that ‘be busy. Do whatever you want and don’t bother about what people say to you. After getting up, get out of the house’ and third thing he told me that ‘don’t enter into politics’.”

Rajinikanth added, “I have followed his first two advises but third thing, I couldn’t follow because of the circumstances. So, I have learnt so many things from him. People say I do comedy and other characters very well but I have learnt from Amit ji (Amitabh Bachchan).".

Rajinikanth announced entry into politics on 31 December 2017 and confirmed his intention to contest in the 2021 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections in all 234 constituencies.

When asked Rajinikanth what kind of change he observes in his acting now as compared to when he started working as an actor, he said, “I don’t see any progress in my acting. In the beginning of our career, we all feel little shy and nervous but as you work more, it increases your confidence. I think acting depends on director mainly and how he extracts acting from an actor. I also feel that reacting to a situation or your co-actors dialogues is acting. Some actors are natural and some of them are spontaneous. People find something interesting in their acting so, I don’t see any change in my acting when I look back into my career.”

Rajinikanth-Nayanthara starrer ‘Darbar’ is scheduled to release in theatres on 10th January, 2020.
