During his media interacting at the trailer launch, Vardhan Puri spoke his love for theater and his grandfather Amrish Puri’s influence on him. He said, “All my conversations with my grandfather, Amrish Puri, have taught me only one thing, preparation is the key. As you all know roots of my family stems from theatre performances. Essentially we all are theatre actors, our upbringing is theatre based”
“Theater is a very fair medium. If you are so and so, or comes from such background, so things will work out for you, in theater it doesn’t work like that. The key to becoming an actor for me has been observing my elders, Chaman Puri, Madan Puri and of course, Amrish Puri. Learning from them and observing them have prepared me for cinema and it has helped me tremendously”
“I have been doing theater since I was five years old. Later I started working with Yash Raj Films as an assistant writer and director. I did not wanted to go to acting school, so I didn’t. I was told that what makes an actor is on field experience. While audition for the film, I was told while you understand the art of acting, now you need to understand film acting. And film acting is always learnt on sets. I did three films as an assistant director and I think that was my training”.
