Anupam Kher Hails Indian Women Hockey Team
Veteran actor Anupam Kher hails the Indian Women Hockey Team as they have registered an impressive win in the FIH Women's Series Finals Hiroshima 2019 after defeating hosts Japan 3-1 in the Final held here at the Hiroshima Hockey Stadium.
Anupam Kher took to his social media profile and wrote, “Congratulations and Jai Ho to the @TheHockeyIndia women’s team on winning the International Hockey Federation Series finals in Hiroshima. The nation is proud of you. Thank you. #FIHSeriesFinals #INDvJPN”
Hockey Team Captain Rani Rampal gave India the lead in the 3rd minute before drag-flicker Gurjit Kaur struck twice (45th and 60th minutes) late in the match to set up the win. Kanon Mori scored the lone goal for Japan in the 11th minute.
The World No. 9 Indian team had already qualified for the FIH Olympic Qualifiers 2019 on Saturday after securing a place in the Final of the competition.
Meanwhile on the work front, Anupam Kher will next be seen in One Day: Justice Delivered, an action thriller film starring Esha Gupta, Kumud Mishra and Anusmriti Sarkar. It follows investigation by a police officer, into the vanishing of important persons in a state capital.
