Noblemen Is An Engaging And Important Film About Bullying Says Kunal Kapoor

Actor Kunal Kapoor, who is all set to tackle the social issue of bulling his forthcoming release Noblemen, says it is an engaging film on an important issue of bullying.

Filmmaker Vandana Kataria and actor Kunal Kapoor hosted an interactive session to promote Noblemen, which is a thematic representation of ‘The Merchant of Venice’. The film has already premiered at the 'Kashish Mumbai International Queer Film Festival.

Talking about the film and its importance, Kunal Kapoor said, “This is a film which is very engaging; it is an important film which talks about an important issue. I hope people come and watch this film and I hope it impact them in way that they need to find a way to do something the evil, which is bullying”

Bullying is prevalent in India, on an annual basis thousands of kids commit suicide and suffers from mental and emotional issues because of it.

Kunal Kapoor also added that it’s truly unfortunate the way bullying is seen in society and one needs to do something about it.

When asked about if he was bullied in school, Kunal said, “No, not really! I grew up in a school where bullying was not so prevalent, fortunately. And also I was popular, so I didn’t get bullied so much, but I do know a lot of people that have bullied and it has scarred them for life” 

“The unfortunate part is that, we treat bullying as something which just happens and we should sort of turn a blind eye to it. We always pretend like this is something that always happens and continues to happen, but we don’t realize the damage it does to these children’s, emotionally and mentally, and how it scars’ them for life. I think one really need to do something to stand up against this prevalence of bullying and also as a society we all need to come together and say this is wrong” added Kunal. 

The film also stars Ali Haji, Ivan Rodrigues, Mohommad Ali Mir, Ankit Kukreti, Muskkaan Jaferi, Shaan Groverr, Manav Chauhan, Parag Gupta and Abhay Narang in major roles.

The film is backed by Yoodlee Films, a production venture of Saregama. The film releases on 28th June 2019.
