Noblemen Is Thematic Adaptation Of The Merchant Of Venice Says Vandana Kataria
Filmmaker Vandana Kataria says her forthcoming poignant drama Noblemen is a thematic adaptation of world famous play, The Merchant Of Venice.
Vandana Kataria along with main lead of the film, Kunal Kapoor, hosted a press meet to promote forthcoming Noblemen.
Talking about the film, its conception and finally directing it, Vandana said, “I am from a boarding school and it’s an adaptation/spin of the play, Merchant of Venice, which is an all male story set in Venice, Jews and Christians, oppressors and oppressed, so all male world, all male boys boarding school, bullies and bullied, so it is easy kind of translation into the thematic of it”
Starting with being a production designer to being the second unit director of Gully Boy, and now full length film, Vandana Kataria has come a long way and says she always wanted to direct a film.
Talking about her journey, Vandana said, “As a production designer, I was directing commercial and music videos. So I was directing but never did a long format, I always wanted to direct but I took the journey of production designer to directing. I will still continue with production design, now I can write, direct and production design”
