Voting In India, It Is Catch 22 Situation Says Alia Bhatt
While the entire nation was busy voting and urging everyone to practice their democratic right and vote, Raazi actress Alia Bhatt was missing from action, she didn’t vote because she couldn’t not, as she is not an Indian citizen.
Present at the special screening of mother Soni Razdan’s upcoming film Yours Truly, actress Alia Bhatt opened up about her voting debate and admitted that she is not an Indian.
When asked about not being able to vote, Alia Bhatt said, “It is catch 22, yeah, of course I would love to vote but there is a technical situation, due to which currently it is not possible for me to vote”
“Hopefully, maybe in the future it could be a dual citizenship or whatever, maybe something or the other would work out. But I am glad that everybody went out in such big numbers and voted” added Alia.
Alia Bhatt is not the only actor in Bollywood, who couldn’t vote, the list is long and shocking. Names like Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sunny Leone and many more cannot vote in India, as they hold different citizenships.
