Peacock Unveils Thrilling Trailer for "The Day of the Jackal"
Peacock has released the full official trailer for its upcoming assassin thriller series, The Day of the Jackal. This bold, contemporary reimagining of the classic novel and film presents a gripping cat-and-mouse chase that promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
Starring Eddie Redmayne as the ruthless assassin known as the Jackal, the series follows his deadly profession, where he executes hits for the highest bidder. However, after his latest job, he encounters a formidable adversary in Lashana Lynch, a determined British intelligence officer. What ensues is a high-stakes chase across Europe, marked by tension and destruction as the two engage in a thrilling game of cat and mouse.
The series boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Úrsula Corberó, Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lia Williams, Khalid Abdalla, and Eleanor Matsuura.
The Day of the Jackal is created, written, and showrun by Ronan Bennett, with additional writing contributions from Charles Cumming, Shyam Popat, and Jessica Sinyard. The series is adapted from the iconic British novel by Frederick Forsyth, first published in 1971.
