As the Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, Tata was not only a business icon but also a beloved figure whose contributions spanned various sectors, including philanthropy and community development. The news of his demise prompted an outpouring of grief from all corners of society, with heartfelt tributes pouring in from celebrities!

Anushka Sharma expressed her sorrow on Instagram, stating, “Deeply saddened by the news of Shri Ratan Tataji. He upheld the values of integrity, grace, and dignity through everything he did and was truly an icon and Taj of India. RIP sir, you have touched so many lives.”

Ratan Tata, born on December 28, 1937, in Mumbai, was a guiding force in elevating the Tata Group to new heights. He served as the Chairman of Tata Sons from 1991 until his retirement in 2012 and later took on the role of Chairman Emeritus. Under his leadership, the Tata Group expanded globally and diversified into various sectors, significantly impacting the economy and society at large.

Tata was also the Chairman of the Ratan Tata Trust and Dorabji Tata Trust, two of India's largest philanthropic trusts, emphasizing his commitment to giving back to the community. His numerous contributions earned him the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award, in 2008.
