Anant Bhai Ambani’s Vantara Unveils Wildlife Sculptures in Mumbai to Combat Plastic Pollution

Vantara, founded by Anant Bhai Ambani, is launching a compelling public art initiative from October 4 to 6, 2024, featuring three wildlife-inspired sculptures across Mumbai—Carter Road, Shivaji Park, and Juhu Beach. These installations aim to raise awareness about the environmental impacts of plastic pollution and human activities on wildlife.

Constructed from wire mesh and locally sourced materials, the sculptures depict poignant scenes of wildlife entangled in human waste. Highlights include an Asiatic Black Bear trapped in a plastic container and Flamingos ensnared in plastic, while a marine-themed piece at Juhu Beach illustrates Turtles caught in fishing nets.

“Our goal is to highlight the interconnectedness of all life and inspire people to rethink their relationship with nature,” said a Vantara spokesperson.

This initiative aligns with Vantara’s mission to protect wildlife and restore ecosystems, building on their existing sanctuary in Gujarat, which has facilitated the preservation of over 1 million animals and the planting of 100 million trees.

As these striking sculptures debut on World Animal Day, Vantara encourages Mumbai residents to reflect on their environmental impact and embrace sustainable practices. By becoming “Vantarians,” individuals can actively participate in fostering a more harmonious coexistence with nature.
