Pawan Kalyan’s 'OG' Event Canceled Due to Flooding: Fans Await New Celebration Date
The much-anticipated launch event for the first single from Pawan Kalyan’s upcoming film OG has been canceled due to severe flooding and heavy rain affecting Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The event was originally scheduled to coincide with Kalyan's birthday celebrations on September 2.
The official Twitter handle of DVV Entertainment, the film's production company, had earlier hinted at a grand celebration, promising fans a special treat. The tweet read, “The ‘POWER’ packed ‘FIRE’ celebrations are about to begin in just a few more hours… #OG is not just a film it’s a celebration for all…. To make this special day even bigger we’ve put in every effort to bring something huge on September 2nd. Due to the ongoing circumstances and floods we’ve decided to push back our celebrations to a later date…!!”
Despite the anticipation and excitement building up for the launch, the worsening weather conditions led to the cancellation of the event. The DVV Entertainment handle updated fans with a follow-up tweet, saying, “Due to the continuous rain and flood calamities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, we have decided to call off all birthday content releases tomorrow. OG is a film that will be celebrated for years to come, Let’s get through this together and celebrate in a big way soon.”
Fans of OG will have to wait a bit longer to see the first single from the film. The makers assured the audience that the celebration would continue in the coming days once the situation stabilizes. The tweet further mentioned, “As you know we won’t disappoint you. OG, a gangster action thriller, is directed by Sujeeth and produced by D. V. V. Danayya of DVV Entertainment. The film features Pawan Kalyan in the lead role, with Emraan Hashmi making his Telugu debut and Priyanka Mohan co-starring. Originally set to release on September 27, 2024, the film’s release has been postponed to March 27, 2025, due to production delays.
