Binny and Family Felt Like A Gift From My Grandfather Says Anjini Dhawan

In a heartwarming blend of familial bonds and cinematic artistry, Anjini Dhawan, niece of Bollywood star Varun Dhawan, is preparing to make her big screen debut with the much-anticipated film, Binny and Family. The film, which delves into the generational divide within families, holds a deeply personal significance for Dhawan, who describes the script as a poignant gift from her late grandfather.

Dhawan’s journey to her debut role is both emotional and inspiring. Reflecting on the script's significance, she shared, “When Ssanjay Tripaathy narrated the script to me for the first time, it felt like nothing else I had encountered. Growing up, I was very close to my grandparents—they were more modern and, in many ways, cooler than my own parents.”

She continued, “I lost my grandfather a year before receiving this script. At that time, I was in a tough emotional place. Ssanjay wrote this script with such heart and honesty, and when I heard it, it felt like a sign. The theme of a grandfather-granddaughter relationship isn’t commonly explored in films, and it felt like it was meant for me, almost as if it was sent by him.”

Binny and Family explores the emotional landscape of familial relationships, particularly focusing on the communication gap between generations. The film promises to offer a rich tapestry of emotions and family dynamics, brought to life under the direction of Ssanjay Tripaathy.

Produced by Ektaa Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures, the film features an impressive ensemble cast, including veteran actors Pankaj Kapur, Himani Shivpuri, Rajesh Kumar, and Charu Shankar.

The film is slated for 20th September 2024 release.
