Hansal Mehta Celebrates Wrap of ‘Gandhi’ Series: A Journey of Intensity and Collaboration

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta has officially wrapped up shooting for his highly anticipated biographical drama series, Gandhi. Taking to social media to share the news, Mehta posted a series of photos with his cast and crew, reflecting on the intense and collaborative journey that brought the project to fruition.

In his heartfelt post, Mehta captioned the images: “Wrap Day…#Gandhi. We lived together for over 220 days, prepped for over 400 days and in the process discovered each other. And through that a little bit of ourselves. The task was arduous, the journey was intense, the responsibility was immense. But we saw each other through. With a lot of work and a lot of joy. With a lot of pride. And yes @pratikgandhiofficial is not in these pictures because he had another shoot. As they say ‘The show must go on.’”

Mehta’s reflection captures the essence of the monumental effort invested in the series, highlighting not just the long hours and dedicated work, but the personal connections and growth experienced along the way. He further added, “The lonely job of post-production will be made richer with these indelible memories. We don’t make movies, we create memories. Thank you @sameern @applausesocial and team for giving us this opportunity and for being our best collaborators.”

Gandhi is a biographical historical drama produced by Applause Entertainment and directed by Hansal Mehta. The series will explore the life and times of Mahatma Gandhi, detailing significant phases from his early actions in South Africa to his pivotal role as the Father of the Nation. Scheduled for a release in early 2025, the series will span three seasons, offering a comprehensive portrayal of Gandhi’s profound impact on history.

The cast includes Pratik Gandhi in the titular role, alongside Bhamini Oza, Tom Felton, Libby Mai, Molly Wright, Ralph Adeniyi, James Murray, Lindon Alexander, Jonno Davies, and Simon Lennon. With such a diverse and talented ensemble, the series is poised to offer a compelling and nuanced portrayal of one of history’s most influential figures.

As production wraps and the team transitions into post-production, the anticipation continues to build for what promises to be a remarkable depiction of Gandhi’s legacy.
