Excel Entertainment Celebrates 20 Years of "Lakshya": A Tribute to Courage and Patriotism

Excel Entertainment, the powerhouse behind some of Bollywood’s most iconic films, recently commemorated two decades since the release of "Lakshya," a gripping war drama directed by Farhan Akhtar and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani. Released in 2004, the film stars Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Preity Zinta in pivotal roles, and remains a poignant tribute to the valor and determination of India’s armed forces during the Kargil War of 1999.

"Lakshya" unfolds the journey of Karan Shergill, portrayed by Hrithik Roshan, a young man initially adrift in life, who finds purpose and maturity through his enlistment in the Indian Army. As war erupts in the treacherous heights of Kargil, Karan evolves into a courageous leader, wielding weapons like the Sterling Mark IV submachine gun, AK47, and INSAS assault rifle with skill and resolve. His transformation from a privileged Delhi youth to a battle-tested hero forms the emotional core of the film.

In celebration of "Lakshya's" enduring legacy, Excel Entertainment shared a nostalgic poster featuring Hrithik Roshan in his role as Captain Karan Shergill. The caption, “Captain Karan Shergill captured offscreen on the sets of Lakshya #20YearsOfLakshya,” pays homage to the film’s impact on audiences and its portrayal of bravery in the face of adversity.

Beyond commemorating "Lakshya," Excel Entertainment continues to push boundaries with a diverse slate of upcoming projects. This includes highly anticipated series such as "Mirzapur Season 2," "Dabba Cartel," "Andhera," and the action thriller movie "Yudhra." These ventures underscore Excel Entertainment’s commitment to delivering compelling narratives that resonate across audiences.
