After a hiatus of 14 years, actor Fardeen Khan is all set to make a spectacular return to the screen with a pivotal role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's highly anticipated series, "Heeramandi." The actor, who last appeared in a film in 2010, expressed his gratitude for this dream comeback opportunity during the trailer launch of the series.

Fardeen, who portrays the character of Wali Mohammed in the series, credited Sanjay Leela Bhansali for offering him such a significant role, stating, "I couldn’t have hoped for a better opportunity as an actor to return to the screen." The actor expressed his excitement and enthusiasm for working with a stellar cast and on a platform like Netflix, highlighting the complexity and intricacy of Bhansali's characters.

In his interaction with the media, Fardeen shared, "For me, this was something I have never done, and it was the perfect role for me. At the age I am in, to come back to the screen, you come with a certain amount of life experience, wisdom, and you know you can really contribute to the layers that Sanjay writes into all his characters."

He went on to praise Bhansali's unique approach to character development, describing his characters as intricate and complex. Fardeen expressed admiration for Bhansali's intuitive understanding of emotions, stating that while it was daunting to work with him, seeing the final product made everything make sense.

The series is created by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the series features an ensemble case of Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal, Taha Shah Badussha, Fardeen Khan, Adhyayan Suman, Shekhar Suman and more.

The series starts streaming on Netflix from 1st May 2024.
