Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has expressed her excitement and gratitude after being declared the Lok Sabha candidate from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In a note shared on her Instagram stories, Kangana reaffirmed her "unconditional support" for the BJP and expressed her honor at joining the party officially.

The note read, "My beloved Bharat and Bhartiya Janta's own party, Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) has always had my unconditional support, today the national leadership of BJP has announced me as their Lok Sabha candidate from my birth place Himachal Pradesh, Mandi (constituency) I abide by the high command's decision on contesting Lok Sabha polls."

She continued, "I feel honoured and elated to officially join the party. I look forward to being a worthy karyakarta and a reliable public servant. Thanks."

Kangana's entry into politics comes as the BJP released its fifth list of candidates for 16 states for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The elections will be conducted in seven phases, from April 19 to June 1, with the counting of votes scheduled for June 4.

Mandi, Kangana's constituency, is considered a stronghold of the Congress party, adding an interesting dynamic to her political journey. Apart from her political foray, Kangana is also gearing up for the release of her next film, 'Emergency', which marks her first solo directorial venture.
