Hope His Singing Is Forever Remembered Says Ustaad Zakir Hussain

Tabla player, composer, percussionist, music producer Ustaad Zakir Hussain pays his tribute to late Ghazal Singer Pankaj Udhas, says he hopes his music is remembered forever.

Ghazal maestro Pankaj Udhas died on February 26 at 72 due to age-related ailments. His funeral will be taking place today, February 27.

Music Maestro Zakir Hussain, Ayaan Ali Khan, Shankar Mahadevan and many other noted personalities visited Udhas household to pay their last respect to late Ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas.

While interacting with the media, Zakir said, “I am sure you all aware why we have come here today, Pankaj Bhaiya, apart from being a treasure of our country, and a top-notch artist, he was much better human being. And the kind of love and appreciation he has shown each one of us, and the kind of happiness he spread across India and world with his singing, there is no parallel to that, he was one of his kind.”

“I love his family, I love Pankaj a lot, and I consider myself fortunate that we got to spend some time with him, enjoy his singing, find some solace in his craft, and enjoy his big personality.”

“I will pray to the almighty that he gives strength to his loved one and family to bear this huge loss. And I pray that his singing is forever remembered in our nation” added Ustaad Zakir.

Sunil Gavaskar, Roop Kumar Rathod, actress Vidya Balan and more were snapped arriving at Udhas household to pay their respect.
