Mother’s Vision Says Jyothika About Her Role In Shaitaan

Veteran actress Jyothika, who is making a comeback to Hindi cinema after a long gap of 25 years with Shaitaan, said her role in the psychological thriller came naturally to her, as she is mother of two in real-life.

Jyothika along with Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Janki Bodiwala, Anngad Raj, Vikas Bahl and more were interacting with the media during the trailer launch of Shaitaan.

Jyothika made her debut with Doli Saja Ke Rakhna (1998), when asked about her role and ghostly aspect of the movie, she said, “When it comes to a daughter, I don’t think anyone could be bigger warrior than a mother, and my own kids, are just as same age of these two (Janki and Anngad), my daughter looks like Janki, so I didn’t have to put in any efforts to perform, just one look at these two, and I would start shedding tears. It is really a vision of a mother, the true vision.”

“And I don’t think when there is a ghost in a movie, you feel all that scared, but there is no ghost in the movie, it is something real, a reality, and the fear of this happening to me, is scarier” added Jyothika.

The film Shaitaan, revolves around a family (Ajay, Jyothik, Janki and Anngad), who go on a vacation to a secluded village, where they encounter a mysterious man (Madhavna), who claims to be their well-wisher. However, he has a sinister motive, and uses black magic to manipulate and torment them. The family soon realizes that they are in grave danger and must fight for their survival against the evil forces.

Shaitaan, is a remake of the 2023 Gujarati film Vash, the Hindi adaptation is helmed by Vikas Bahl and produced under Ajay Devgn FFilms, Jio Studios, and Panorama Studios. The film is set for theatrical release on 8 March 2024.
