Akshay Kumar Confirms Sarfira, Remake Of Soorarai Pottru

Actor Akshay Kumar has announced the release date of his upcoming film titled Sarfira, a remake of Tamil film Soorarai Pottru (2020). The film is directed by National award winning director Sudha Kongara and also stars Radhika Madan and Paresh Rawal.

Soorarai Pottru is based on the true events from the life of G. R. Gopinath, founder of Indian low-cost airline Simplifly Deccan, as described in his memoir 'Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey'.

Written by Sudha and Shalini Ushadevi, with dialogues by Pooja Tolani, and a G.V. Prakash Kumar musical, Sarfira is produced by Aruna Bhatia, (Cape of Good Films), South superstars Suriya and Jyotik (2D Entertainment) and Vikram Malhotra (Abundan/a Entertainment).

Kumar was last seen in Mission Raniganj (2023) and has a bunch of films lined up for release including Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Singham Again, Welcome To The Jungle, Housefull 5 among others. Sarfira releases in theatres on July 12.
