Waiting For Technology To Match My Vision Of The Immortal Ashwatthama Says Aditya Dhar

URI fame director and producer Aditya Dhar finally share his reasons for putting Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan starrer The Immortal Ashwatthama, during the trailer launch of Article 370.

Putting an end to all the wild speculations running around about date conflicts, star replacements or financial issues, Aditya Dhar said, “The film is on the backburner now. I will be very honest with you, the kind of vision I had for the film is too big for the mathematics to work for Indian cinema. The VFX quality that we were looking at, nobody has even strived for that yet. Unfortunately, until the technology here becomes cheaper or there is increase in footfalls in cinemas, till then I will have to wait and watch.”

Quoting the example of James Cameron waited 27 years to make Avatar as the technology had to invented, Aditya said, “It took James  Cameron some 27 years to create Avatar due to lack of technology. We have to make sure for the excellence and intent. If we have to achieve that, there cannot be any mediocrity. I am a patriot and I truly believe that as filmmakers, we have the responsibility of representing our country in the right way. I really want me or one of my colleagues to stand in Oscar stage and win it for India. It will only happen if we compete with them and for that, we have to be excellent. We can’t be mediocre and that’s how we have to go with it.”

Talking about Article 370, the film is helmed by two-time National Award-winner Aditya Suhas Jambhale, it is a high-octane, action political drama, that revolves around the takedown of terrorism in Kashmir by rendering Article 370 ineffective.

The film stars Yami Gautam, Priya Mani, Arun Govil, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Skand Thakur, Ashwini Koul, Kiran Karmarkar, Divya Seth Shah, Raj Zutshi, Sumit Kaul, Raj Arjun, Asit Gopinath Redij, Ashwani Kumar and Irawati Harshe Mayadev. The film is slated for 23rd Feb 2024 release.
