Varun Grover’s Directorial Debut, All India Rank, Gets A Release Date

Stand-up comedian and screenwriter Varun Grover is all set to make his directorial debut with a screenplay he wrote, the film is titled All India Rank, the first look poster and release date of social drama is out.

Varun Grover took to his social media profile and shared the poster and wrote, “A part of our hearts, coming to you  in theatres on 23rd February 2024, Hamare Dil Ka Ek Tukda, Apki Najar 23 Farwari 2024 Se. My first film as a director - can’t wait for the world to see.  Trailer out on Monday , 5th Feb, 2024.”

The film revolves around a teenage boy, who has been shipped off to Kota for IIT coaching by his parents, who thinks IIT degree as a moral certificate.

Steeped in the pop culture of liberalised India in the 1990s, multi-hyphenate Varun Grover’s semi-autobiographical debut feature All India Rank is a smart, bittersweet portrait of a nascent national hallucination. Leaning on Grover’s characteristically acerbic wit and eloquent lines, the film diagnoses the malaise of a society where children squander their best years living their parents’ dreams and parents let their self-worth repose on their children’s achievements.

The film stars Bodhisattva Sharma, Shashi Bhushan, Samta Sudiksha and more. Presented by Sriram Raghavan, it is produced by Sanjay Routray and Sarita Patil and co-produced by Gayatri M. The film is slated for 23rd Feb 2024.
