Dia Mirza Emphasizes the Importance of Showcasing Mission Life Campaign in Places of Worship

Bollywood actress Dia Mirza took center stage at the Maharashtra Tourism Conclave 2024, held at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai, where she passionately spoke about the need for sustainable tourism and the importance of aligning places of worship with the Mission Life Campaign initiated by the Government of India.

During her interaction with the media at the conclave, Dia Mirza expressed her views on the recently constructed Ayodhya Temple and its impact on tourism. She said, “There is a powerful campaign that the government of India launched called Mission Life, which his lifestyle for the environment, we as Indians, visit place across world, but the entire world visit India to witness our historical sites, our culture, heritage, architecture, and more, to experience and celebrate it. So, Mission Life campaign’s one branch is tourism, it is my hope, that whatever we built or celebrate, whether it’s a festival or monument, or places of worship, we should be able to showcase Mission Life.”

The event, organized by the Directorate of Tourism (DoT), Government of Maharashtra, in association with Mumbai Festival 2024, brought together industry leaders, experts, and policymakers to discuss global tourism opportunities and sustainable practices.

The Tourism Conclave, a pivotal segment of the cultural extravaganza, brought together industry leaders, experts, and policymakers to discuss strategic development in Mumbai's Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector, events, wedding industry, tourism, hotels, and venues. The discussions, presentations, and networking sessions aimed to foster sustainable practices within the tourism sector.

Expressing her happiness about the focus on sustainability at the Mumbai Festival, Dia Mirza said, “Talking about the event, Dia said, “I am very happy that Mumbai Festival is focusing on sustainability, and we were given an opportunity to highlight why sustainable goals are so important. How sustainable tourism will impact, the health, the peace, the progress, not only of our city, or state but the entire county. I am really encouraged by the participation of the government and stake holders in understanding and implementing SDG’s.”
