Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri Honoured With Doctorate Degree

Seasoned filmmaker and champion of all social causes, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri adds one more feather in his cap, the director has been honoured with a honorary doctorate degree from DY Patil University.

Sharing a string of pictures from the ceremony on his social media, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri wrote, “I am deeply honored to receive an Honorary Doctorate from the Governor of Maharashtra at DY Patil University, Pune. Thank you for believing in my contributions. Excited to carry this recognition forward by creating positive social impact through Indic Renaissance. Gratitude.”

Agnihotri made his directorial debut with the crime thriller Chocolate (2005) and has directed multiple films since which failed to propel his career forward until The Tashkent Files (2019) which emerged as a commercial success and earned him the National Film Award for Best Screenplay - Dialogues.

He also wrote and directed The Kashmir Files (2022) which emerged as one of the highest-grossing Indian film of 2022 and earned him the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration.

Vivek’s recent medical drama film The Vaccine War (2023) which emerged as a box-office bomb.

Currently, Vivek is bust wrapping the final instalment of The files series, the film is titled The Delhi Files, based on 1984 anti-Sikh riots. The film hopes to open up the long-suppressed cases of the carnage of the Sikh community after Mrs Gandhi’s assassination.
