Abhishek Chaubey Talks About The Vast Canvas of Storytelling In OTT Space

Known for hard hitting drama’s such as Ishqiya, Udta Punjab and Sonchiriya, filmmaker Abhishek Chaubey, who forayed into digital space with Netflix series Killer Soup, opened up on the difference between making a film and a series for OTT.

When asked about the key differences between long format and silver screen format, Abhishek said, "The primary difference between a film and a series is its length, we as filmmakers are used to writing 100 odd pages of script. This is about 450 pages of script that is 7 hours of story.”

“An OTT series gives you room to explore many more characters in greater detail. I feel the series is like a novel. When I am making a film, I remember the script by heart. But here it is very hard to remember 450 pages of script" added Abhishek.

Killer Soup is a black comedy crime thriller co-written by Abhishek Chaubey along with Harshad Nalawade, Anant Tripathi and Unaiza Merchant and directed by Abhishek Chaubey.

The series is about an aspiring yet talentless home chef (Konkana Sen Sharma), who conspires to replace her husband, Prabhakar (Manoj Bajpayee), with her lover, Umesh (also played by Manoj Bajpayee).

The series is streaming on Netflix.
