Faraaz Launched 7 New Comers Pens Hansal Mehta

National award winner filmmaker Hansal Mehta talks a walk down the memory lane and pens a beautiful and heart-warming for Faraaz, as the year comes to an end.

Sharing a string of pictures from the film, Hansal Mehta wrote, “Before the year ends I wanted to share how my year began. This has been a very special year, a very busy one and it began with the release of #Faraaz.”

“This film holds a very special place in my heart, not only because of its intentions but because of its execution. It marked the debut of 7 young actors and the theatrical debut of another. The young kids were ‘launched’ without hoardings, hype or a premier. They put their all into the film and it shows. None of them look like they’re in their first film!”

“It was a first film for many. And my first collaboration with a dear friend @anubhavsinha. It was a first for @MahanaFilms, Sahil, Maz and Sakshi as independent producers. The film might get forgotten in the noise of box office numbers and hyper publicity but give it a look. It is a call for peace, a critical look at majoritarianism, a message for humanity and also a thrilling hostage drama. #Faraaz is available on @NetflixIndia” added Hansal.

Faraaz starred Juhi Babbar, Aamir Ali, Aditya Rawal, Zahan Kapoor, Jatin Sarin, Pallak Lalwani, and six newcomers Jatin Sarin, Reshham Sahaani, Ninaad Bhatt, Harshal Pawar, Sachin Lalwani including Kapoor marking their debut.

Based on actual event, it depicts the Holey Artisan Bakery, July 2016 Dhaka attack that shook Bangladesh. The film premiered at the BFI London Film Festival on 15 October 2022, and released in India on 3 February 2023.
