Emotionally Taxing Role In Starfish Says Khushalii Kumar

In the upcoming film "Starfish," Khushalii Kumar takes on the challenging role of Tara, a commercial sea diver, and reveals that the character has been emotionally taxing due to its depth and complexity. The actor, along with co-stars Tusharr Khanna, Milind Soman, Ehan Bhat, and filmmaker Akhilesh Jaiswal, recently graced the trailer launch event, providing insights into the intricacies of the film.

Speaking about her role as Tara, Khushalii Kumar expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating, “I thoroughly enjoyed doing this film. It feels great when you get something new to do. The character of Tara is very interesting and deep, with different layers. She is a commercial diver, and there was plenty of unique stuff to do with the character. I thoroughly enjoyed it."

Ahead of the trailer release, Khushalii shared a promotional clip on her social media, showcasing a four-minute-long take on a drug overdose scene, hinting at the intense and challenging nature of her role.

When asked about the most challenging aspect of portraying Tara, Khushalii revealed, “Emotionally, the character was very challenging. In fact, today itself, I posted about a scene from the film. It is about a drug overdose scene, which I have performed as Tara. It was really challenging to get into that whole state of mind, and after performing the scene, when it’s time to disconnect from the character and come back to yourself, that itself is a long process. It takes a toll on you, as an actor."

"Starfish," based on the best-selling book 'Starfish Pickle' by Bina Nayak, narrates the compelling story of Tara, a skilled commercial diver who defies social conventions and confronts her past. Helmed by Ahhilesh Jaiswal, produced by T-Series and Almighty Motion Picture, the film is set to release on November 24, 2023.
