Lakshmi Iyer Win Best Director Short Film Award For First Second Chance At Goa Film Festival

Filmmaker Lakshmi R Iyer directorial First Second Chance, a short film about two individuals, discarded by their families in their sunset years, who find the motivation to kick-start life all over again, has bagged Best Director Short Film Award at the prestigious Goa Short Film Festival.

Sharing the happy news with her fans on her social media profile, Lakshmi R Iyer tweeted, “Very happy share, Our film FIRST SECOND CHANCE, has won BEST DIRECTOR in the short film category at the 10th Goa Short Film Festival 2023, Big cheers to my lovely cast and crew, A big thank you to the esteemed jury @ananthmahadevan @renukash @Devoleena_23”

The film revolves around former colleagues, Vaidehi and Raman, abandoned by their children and relegated to an old-age home, pick up the threads of their lives together from where they left it in their youth.

The film stars Devoleena Bhattacharjee, Renuka Shahane, Anant Mahadevan, Sahil Uppal, Nikhil Sangha, Mohit Singh and more. It is currently available on Disney Plus Hotstar.
