Star Studded Red-Carpet Opening Gala Of Jio MAMI Film Festival

The Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, held at the Jio World Centre in the Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, on October 27, 2023, was a star-studded event with various Bollywood celebrities gracing the red carpet.

Several B-town celebs including Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Sail Ali Khan, Vijay Varma, Karan Johar, Patralekhaa Rao, Tara Sutaria, Sunny Leone, Diana Penty, Richa Chadha, Ali Fazal, Dia Mirza, Rajkumar Rao, Sanya Malhotra, Babil Khan, Bhuvan Bam, Riteish Deshmukh, Palak Tiwari and whole lot more graced the red-carpet gala.

Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan wore a black dress with a plunging neckline, minimal makeup, and a bun hairstyle, complemented by pink earrings. Saif wore a white kurta with a matching Nehru jacket, while Karisma opted for a white saree with black prints.

Priyanka donned a white sheer gown with heavy makeup and a sleek bun. She completed her look with a matching white long coat and minimal jewelry.

Sonam looked stunning in a black velvet dress with heavy makeup and a sleek bun. She accessorized her look with a pearl necklace and matching pearl earrings.

The festival itself featured an impressive lineup of over 250 films from around the world, spread over 10 days. It included 40 World Premieres, 45 Asia Premieres, and 70+ South Asia Premieres, with a record-breaking number of over 1000 submissions for the South Asia program.

The main focus of the festival was to highlight contemporary films and emerging cinematic voices from South Asia. The South Asia Competition was a central part of the festival, aligning with its vision to become a hub for South Asian and South Asian Diaspora cinema and talent. This competitive section aimed to showcase breakthrough contemporary South Asian films.

The Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival is a significant event in the Indian film industry, providing a platform for both established and emerging filmmakers to showcase their work and connect with a broader audience.
