Rani Mukerji Dances Her Heart Out During Sindoor Khela

Rani Mukerji, the well-known actor, took part in the ritual 'Sindoor Khela' as she bid farewell to goddess Durga on Vijayadashami at the North Bombay Sarbojanin's Durga Puja pandal in Mumbai. She wore a golden-pink silk saree, along with gold jewelry and a mangalsutra for the occasion, and she was seen performing traditional dance at the pandal.

Sindoor Khela is a significant ritual that occurs on the final day of Durga Puja, a major festival in India, particularly celebrated with great fervor in West Bengal. On Vijay Dashmi, the last day of Durga Puja, married Bengali Hindu women apply sindoor (vermillion) on the forehead and feet of the goddess and offer sweets to her, after which they apply sindoor to each other's faces.

This ritual symbolizes the power of womanhood in protecting her husband and children from all evil. Through Sindoor Khela, Hindu women pray for the long and happy married lives of each other. This tradition is an integral part of Durga Puja celebrations in Bengali culture and is celebrated across Kolkata and the entire state.

The North Bombay Sarbojanin's Durga Puja pandal witnessed the participation of several celebrities, including Sonam Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, and Kiara Advani, during the festivities.
