Introduction Of The World And Characters Says Zoya Akhtar About Sunoh Song

Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar, who released the first single Sunoh from The Archies, says the song is an introduction of the world and characters.

Zoya Akhtar along with Reema Kagti, Aditi aka Dot, Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, Mihir Ahuja, Suhana Khan, Vedang Raina and Yuvraj Menda were interacting with the media during a film festival in Mumbai.

Talking about the first single Sunoh from the world of Riverdale, filmmaker Zoya Akhtar said, “This is first thing we’re putting other there from the film, it is song titled Sunoh, this is the introduction to the world and characters, it is done by Ankit Tiwari and The Islanders.”

“It’s a classic, like a rock-n-roll, reminiscent of an era, the spirit of the song is the spirit of the era, where the youth actually made their voice heard, there was sense of idealism, and rebellion, and sense of we can the world better, that is all captured in the song, that is what it means to us” added Zoya.

A reimagining of the American comic book Archies, the new Zoya Akhtar version follows the comic’s main characters from an Indian perspective and is set in the fictional town of Riverdale from the comic book in 1960’s India.

The cast of the teen comedy coming-of-age musical includes Aditi aka Dot, Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, Mihir Ahuja, Suhana Khan, Vedang Raina and Yuvraj Menda.

The film is produced by Netflix India, Tiger Baby, Archie Comics and Graphic India and will be released on Netflix on December 7.
