Péro Unveils Cuckoo And Co Collection At LFW

The Fashion Design Council of India did a unique showcase with celebrated brand Péro on 14th October at Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI.

Péro unveiled its latest collection, a kaleidoscopic carnival of creativity set in a world where being different is the only norm. Aptly named Cuckoo & Co; the collection’s offering was a celebration of misfits, eccentrics, and the outrageously unique.

Drawing inspiration from the bygone era of the 1930s, where conformity reigned supreme, Cuckoo & Co. boldly defied expectations with garments and textiles saturated in vivid colors, deep-tones, psychedelic flowers, and unruly stripes.

The spirit of the collection harked back to the audacious floral neckties that once stood out as symbols of crazy and outlandish; in a sea of sameness. The collection was a visual feast as floral motifs, medallions, and geometric forms came alive in 3D through crochet, laser-cut fabrics, beadwork, stumpwork, patchwork, appliqué, and cutwork.

Jackets, skirts, shirts, and more, crafted from hand-woven Mashru, silk, cotton, and pure wool, showcased a fusion of gingham checks, bold stripes, prints, and color blocking.

For this collection, Péro also collaborated with global artisans, including women knitters from Himachal Pradesh and Afghani refugee women, to add a touch of diverse craftsmanship to the collection.

Notable European partners, ANT45, PèPè, and Grevi, bring sustainability, vibrant footwear, and felt top hats to the mix, completing this extraordinary ensemble.
