Sam Bahadur Is About Army, Not Politics Says Vicky Kaushal
Actor Vicky Kaushal, who will be seen playing the role of Sam Manekshaw in Sam Bahadur, says the film is not about politics for him, it’s about army, which is his soft side.
Vicky Kaushal was interacting with media during the teaser launch of Sam Bahadur in Mumbai on Friday.
The movie also features former and late Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Sam’s constant tussle with politicians during his tenure. So we asked Vicky about making a political statement with the movie, he said, “There is line in movie, which we have kept in the teaser as well, I have no interest in politics, army is my life, this is not a politics based film for me, it’s an army based film for me”
“And whenever there is call from an army based film, that is my soft side, where I am always tempted, but when the film is about Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw, who is one of the most celebrated people from the Indian Army, it is really hard for me to let such an opportunity to let go, so it’s not the politics but the army” added Vicky.
Further adding, Vicky said it’s an honor and responsibility to play such a legend on-screen plus the Army people warned him, not to mess their icon on-screen.
