Avinash Tiwary Breaks Down His Roles In Kaala, Bambai Meri Jaan, Khakee

Actor Avinash Tiwary, who featured in three different avatars in Kaala, Khakhee, and Bambai Meri Jaan, said each character requires different kind of preparation.

In an exclusive chat, Avinahs Tiwary talked about the process of building his character – Chandan Mahto in Khakee – The Bihar Chapter, Dara Kadri in Bambai Meri Jaan and Rtiwik in Kaala.

Avinash said, “Every character requires different kind of preparation. When I was playing Chandan Mahto in Khakee – The Bihar Chapter, I remember staying with truck-driver on a Dhaba, for 15 days. I was in Dalton Ganj when I stayed on this Dhaba. I would dress like them, work in the sun, talk and walk like them, and eat the same food. That was my start point in the development of my character, and from there I worked my way into the character.”

“For Dara Kadri, I started prepping physically first, I cut my moustache first, gained some weight, and started working my walk, gait, expression, smoking, hand gesturing, and stuff like that, once I got that sorted, I worked my way into the psyche of Dara, how he thinks, and his reaction, that is something I worked after getting the physicality right.”

“Ritwik Mukhjee was a whole different experience for me, because when you are working with director like Bejoy Nambiar, you need to take all your prep and dump it. You just follow his directions, he says jump, you jump. So, it was a very spontaneous performance for me. But the emotional core of the character because he is tormented by his past, and it keeps resurfacing, so the entire exercise to express that angle. But these three characters were prepared differently” added actor.

After three hit shows, Avinash will soon be seen in a movie, He said “After three OTT shows, I am getting a chance to be in theater, the film is produced by Excel, it is titled Madgaon Express, and Kunal Kemmu has directed it.”
