Ashutosh Gowariker To Helm Shankar, Based On Adi Shankaracharya
Mumbai, 22nd September 2023 (Newshelpline) - Lagaan fame director Ashutosh Gowariker join hands with Acharya Shankar Sanskritik Ekta Nyas, for his next film, a biopic based on Adi Shankaracharya titled Shankar.
Ashutosh Gowariker Productions shared the first look poster and confirmed the film, it said, “We are excited to announce our next film project, SHANKAR, based on child prodigy and Vedic scholar, teacher and philosopher Adi Shankaracharya, in collaboration with Acharya Shankar Sanskritik Ekta Nyas. Adi Shankara, also called Adi Shankaracharya was an 8th-century Indian Vedic scholar and teacher.
His works present a harmonizing reading of the sastras, with liberating knowledge of the self at its core, synthesizing the Advaita Vedanta teachings of his time. Other details of the film are still under-wraps.
Meanwhile on the acting front, Ashutosh will soon be seen in Netflix’s series 'Kaala Paani', a survival drama set in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
