Singer Daler Mehndi along with filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt was interacting with Newshelpline during the screening of Mastaney in Mumbai.
When asked about his reasons for associating with film, Daler Mehndi said, “The reason I wanted to be associated with this movie is because it is one of the most expensive movie ever made in Punjab, usually films from the region has based on drugs or comedy, songs or girls from the region are highlighted, but this is first movie which showcases real Punjab.”
“Who are real Punjabi’s and what kind of warriors they make. When Abdali attacked India, he was abducting kids, and women’s from our country along with loot, Abdali was a warrior and standing against him was difficult. Back in days, Sikh community used to live in small tribes, and they decided to free those kids and women’s”
“The movie is about real Sikhs, it is about truth and power of prayers. I am thankful to everyone for supporting the film” added Daler.
