Ghazal Space Has Improved Tremendously Says Singer Hariharan

Mumbai, 30th August 2023 (Newshelpline) - Padma Shri Singer Hariharan, who performed at the 9th edition of Rehmatien concert, said he is happy that Ghazal space has shown tremendous improvement since the last two years.

Hariharan was interacting with Newshelpline during the Rehmatein Concert, the 9 editions of Live Music Concert Organized to provide crucial financial support to music fraternity facing challenging times.

Hariharan once expressed his concern regarding Ghazal space facing a crisis, but now, the singer is happy as the space has shown improvement. He said, “From last 2 years, the scene has improved tremendously, the following of Ghazal space. I performed last year in Jashn-e-Rekhta, there were 10-15 thousand people, and out of those 60 percent were youngsters, and they all remembered the Ghazals and sang it. I was performing last night, I was singing Ghazals all night and it was a full show. It feels great that people appreciate Ghazals.”

Machines and AI are taking over every sphere, but Hariharan believes that artist singing is a different kind of fun.

He said, “Machines are already singing, half of the work is done by machine, it is okay, it will happen. Earlier we used to shift gears in cars, now they are automatic, computers are also part of music now, and when AI comes, it will change everything. I think we should let it happen, but when we sing, it is a different kind of fun.”

Music composer and singer Anu Malik, Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, singer Kavita Seth and more participated in the live concert.
