Bishan Singh Bedi Aur Zaheer Khan’s Biopic Says Angad Bedi
Mumbai, 11th August 2023 (Newshelpline) - Actor Angad Bedi, who is currently promoting Ghoomer, says he would be do a biopic based on his father Bishan Singh Bedi or Zaheer Khan.
Angad Bedi was interacting with Newshelpline on the sidelines of a friendly cricket match between team Ghoomer and media.
Angad Bedi has been part of sports-based films and series, so we asked him if he would like to do a sports biopic, and he said, “Whatever understanding I have of the game, I think I would like to do my father’s biopic, Bishan Singh Bedi. I just feel that he has a very colorful personality, it will be fun to watch him on-screen. He was a bowler, and the captain, and he was anti-establishment, and his personal life was also colorful, so I feel that is something I would like to project, if I get a chance. Otherwise, I love Zaheer Khan’s personality, I think I would love to do his biopic.”
Ghoomer is written and directed by R. Balki, starring Abhishek Bachchan, Saiyami Kher, and Shabana Azmi in leading roles. The film revolves around a female batsman, who loses her arm in an accident, but develops a new technique to bowl with her left arm.
When asked about bowling, as he is son of Bishan Singh Bedi, actor Angad said, “I am so grateful that I was born in a sporting background household, and I am born to a living legend, but I think it is the most difficult art-form, especially the left arm bowlers or spinners, they are called south-paw, it is not a very natural thing to do, and plus you’re a finger spinner, things like holding the bowl, placing your fingers, grip, there are so many dynamics which are in play, it’s not like run-up, stride, delivery and follow through, which takes place in fast bowling.”
