More Than A Performance, It Is A Tribute Says Sushmita Sen
Sushmita Sen, who will be seen playing the role of transgender Gauri Sawant in Taali, says the film is more than just a performance, it is a tribute to the entire community.
Sushmita Sen was interacting with Newshelpline at the launch of Nebula By Titan's Art Deco Collection in Mumbai.
After wowing her fans with Aarya, Sushmita Sen is all set to play transgender activist Gauri Sawant in her next titled Taali, helmed by Ravi Jadhav.
Talking about her project and role, Sushmita Sen said, “It is my hope, the kind of honesty with which I have done that story, and tried to portray the life of Gauri, that the honesty comes through, because it is a tribute, more than a performance, it is my tribute to her and the entire community, so I have my fingers crossed. I have done a lot of hard work and the entire team has put in their hard work as well.”
Gauri Sawant, who was born as Ganesh Sawant, is the founder of Sakhi Char Chaughi Trust, an organization that promotes safe sex and provides counselling to transgender people from Mumbai.
