Women Paraded Naked In Manipur: Akshay Kumar Calls For Harsh Punishment
Mumbai, 20th July 2023 (Newshelpline) - Superstar Akshay Kumar, perhaps the only actor in entire Bollywood, calling for harsh punishment for people involved in beating and parading a women naked in the streets of Manipur.
A horrific video of two tribal women being paraded naked on a road by a group of Men (Meiteis) in Manipur has been shared widely on social media, drawing massive condemnations and calling for action.
Socially aware and Women Empowerment supporter Akshay Kumar took to his micro-blogging profile and wrote, “Shaken, disgusted to see the video of violence against women in Manipur. I hope the culprits get such a harsh punishment that no one ever thinks of doing a horrifying thing like this again.”
The cruelty and inhumanity of the Meitei has surfaced with the video. Two Kuki-Zo women paraded naked in street, beaten, pushed around and mistreated, it is also reported that one of the victim was gangraped. Police complaint has been filed.
Indian state Manipur, has been engulfed in riots since May, horrible videos and stills keep making their way online.
