We Needed Someone With Caliber And Gravitas Says Anu Menon About Vidya Balan In Neeyat

Mumbai, 5th July 2023 (Newshelpline) - Filmmaker Anu Menon, who is collaborating with Vidya Balan for the second time on Neeyat after Shakuntala Devi, says she needed someone with caliber and gravitas for the role, hence she approached the actress for the lead.

Anu Menon along with Vidya Balan, Ram Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Dipannita Sharma, Shashank Arora, Shahana Goswami, Neeraj Kabi and Amrita Puri were interacting with Newshelpline during a press conference.

When asked about collaborating with Vidya Balan for the second time, Anu Menon said, “Why because when we started writing the script and started figuring out this character, it really felt like a Vidya Balan role, I am not saying she is similar to Vidya, but it is a fact that we wanted someone of her caliber, gravitas, who can actually takes us on this journey, she is someone who takes everyone through this journey in this film, and the one you can trust”

“And as you know, Vidya Balan doesn’t say yes very easily, so I had to make sure she loves the script first as an audience and find something in that she likes. I know she enjoyed doing Shakuntala with me, but I do think I earned another time with my script” added Anu.

The film is produced by Vikram Malhotra under Abundantia Entertainment alongside Amazon Prime Video. The film is scheduled to release theatrically on 7 July 2023.
