The trailer opens with Ranveer Singh as Rocky Randhawa, a hardcore Punjabi guy, and Bengali girl Rani (Alia) finding love in one another.
Rani hails from a well-educated Bengali family from Kolkata while Ranveer’s is rich Punjabi boy, who is clueless about everything and anything. Both of their worlds are polar opposites, hence before marriage, they decide to ‘switch’ their families to know if their marriage will survive. Only to realize, they might overcome the differences but their families will not.
Helmed by Karan Johar, the film also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Ronit Roy, Saswata Chatterjee, Karmveer Choudhary, Arjun Bijlani, Shraddha Arya, Sriti Jha, Bharti Singh, Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Arjit Taneja, Aamir Bashir, Namit Das, Kshitee Jog, Churni Ganguly and Abhinav Sharma.
