The Kerala Story Starring Adah Sharma Gets A Release Date

Mumbai, 25th April 2023 (Newshelpline) - Actress Adah Sharma unveils a series of posters from the forthcoming social drama titled The Kerala Story, and confirms the theatrical release date as well. The film is written and directed by Sudipto Sen.

The film courted controversy after its teaser mounted claims about thousands of girls from Kerala being converted to Islam for recruitment to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Sharing the posters, Adah Sharma captioined her post, “Shalini Unnikrishnan, From Freedom to Fear, From Smiles to Silence, From Innocence to Terrorism, Uncovering the Truth that they want to hide. #TheKeralaStory in cinemas on 5th May. The trailer for the film will be out tomorrow. Earlier makers dropped a teaser, which featured Adah Sharma as Fathima Ba — a Hindu Malayali nurse — who had converted to Islam and joined the ISIS, before ending up in an Afghan jail. She claims to be one of the 32,000 girls, from the Hindu and Christian communities, who are "missing" from Kerala and have been recruited to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, after being converted to Islam.

The film is slated for 5th May 2023 release in cinema-halls.
