Mumbai, 10th March 2022 (NewsHelpline) – Actor Vidya Balan says her forthcoming movie Jalsa has a universal story and it will touch everyone’s heart not just in India but across world.

Vidya Balan along with Shefali Shah and filmmaker Suresh Triveni were interacting with NewsHelpline at the trailer launch of the film.

When asked Vidya Balan usually opts for movies with social messages, with Jalsa what should audience expect. She said, “There was never really an intent to put out a social message, but if you’d felt that there is this layer you connected with, that is just bonus for us. We are just telling a story about people and there will be something in this movie, which will touch your heart, not a message though”

“There is something for everyone in this movie, not just for women like Maya or Ruksana, this is a film for everyone. Yes, this film is told through these two characters, but I am sure everyone will be able to connect to this story, not just in India but across globe, that is why we have collaborated with Amazon to reach the world. It is a universal story, and it has something for everyone, even for men” added Vidya.

Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah are sharing the screen space for the first time, and both are known for strong performances. When asked about working with equally talented female co-star, she said, “Acting is about reacting, and I have had good fortune of working with some incredible actors, but there is one Shefali Shah. I have seen her from the first time I did a show, my very first show and I was Shefali Shah perform, and I was mesmerized watching her”

Helmed by Suresh Triveni, the film is jointly produced by T-series Abundantia Entertainment. The film features a stellar ensemble of actors like Manav Kaul, Rohini Hattangadi, Iqbal Khan, Vidhatri Bandi, Shrikant Mohan Yadav, Shafeen Patel, and Surya Kasibhatla. The movie is set to premiere on March 18 on Amazon Prime.
