Singer Lata Mangeshkar Laid To Rest With State Honours
Mumbai, 7th February 2022 (NewsHelpline) - Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar has been laid to rest with proper state honour and in-presence of eminent personalities and Indian Prime Minister along with series of state and cabinet Minister.
The Bharat Ratna winner singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away at the age of 92, she was cremated at Shivaji Park on Sunday in Mumbai with full state honours. The vehicle in which her body was taken to the stadium was completely decorated with white flowers and also had a massive photo of hers.
Several celebrities across different fields, acting, singing, sports, politics and business, were present at the funeral including actor Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Vidya Balan, Ranbir Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, singer Anuradha Podwal, musician Shankar Mahadevan, producer Siddharth Roy Kapur, paid floral tributes to the late iconic singer.
State ministers including Uddhav Thackeray, Raj Thackeray, Aaditya Thackeray, Piyush Goyal and Sharad Pawar were also present.
Late Lata Mangeshkar's brother Hridaynath accompanied by his son Aadinath Mangeshkar lit the funeral pyre. She also received a gun salute during the last rites.
