Shabaash Mithu Gets A Release Date

Makers of Shabaash Mithu, a sports biopic based on Mithali Dorai Raj,  the Test and ODI captain of women's national cricket team, celebrates her birthday by unveiling a brand new poster and release date of the film.

The official handle of ViaCom18 Studios shared the poster and release date. The caption read, “ONE GIRL with HER CRICKET BAT has shattered world records and stereotypes. You’ve done it all Champ… Happy Birthday Mithu @mithaliraj #ShabaashMithu in theatres on 4|02|2022. @taapsee #VijayRaaz @ajit_andhare @srijitmukherji @priyaaven”

Taapsee Pannu will play the lead of Mithali in the film, which will chronicles the highs and lows, setbacks and moments of euphoria of Mithali’s life.

The film is helmed Srijit Mukherji, who replaced filmmaker Rahul Dholakia after the latter had to quit the project owing to change in schedule. The makers have also shot the film at the iconic Lord’s cricket ground in London.

Apart from the sports drama, Taapsee will soon be seen in Looop Lapeta, Anurag Kashyap’s Dobaaraa and thriller Blurr, her maiden production venture.
